As you all know, I absolutely love to travel. But let’s face it–travel can be tough on how you look and feel. Your best way to stay looking and feeling fresh is to ensure you have the right travel-friendly things in your bag. Today, I share my favorite, must-pack items that I don’t leave home without. I assume that these things will go on every trip with me, no matter the time of year or the type of trip. Being prepared lets you enjoy and maximize your travel adventures.
This item is listed first for a reason. You’ll use this every day, so be sure it is one you love (ideally in a neutral black or off-white). Your travel scarf can be used to snuggle on the airplane and used to dress up any outfit. It needs to be lightweight and easy to compact so you can carry it with you every day – you never know when you may need to cover your shoulders or
spruce up your outfit. A neutral pashmina-type scarf can also serve this purpose. This is my favorite!
Do you get puffy when traveling? I do! Air travel, eating out, and not drinking enough water are all culprits. And these are all things that occur when you travel. They all can cause puffiness, which is no fun. I love using these 5-minute eye gels – they work miracles and feel great! They are small and flat and can tuck into both your handbag as well as your suitcase.
A classic, well-fitting black button front shirt has so much flexibility. In the right fabric, it can be worn in all seasons. I use mine as a layer over a tank when the day begins or ends and there is a chill in the air. Then, I wear it with the collar up as a dressy top for dinner. Finally, it can be knotted in front as a casual daytime shirt. And, it can even serve as a bathing suit cover up!! I love this one for Anatomie. Size up for more flexibility.
The medium-sized Dillon bag by Hammitt is perfect for travel. It offers so many zippered pockets, keeping important things organized and on the ready. You need a comfy crossbody to keep your hands free and to keep your shoulders from aching. In addition, you can take off the straps and use as a clutch for dressy nights out.
A really comfortable pair of stylish sneakers is invaluable. Most travel includes a lot of time of your feet, whether it is walking tours, museums, or aimless wanders in a new city. Brands that do a great job with this are Dolce Vita and On Clouds. Looking stylish, while being comfortable, is a vital combination for your travels.
