Ireland, All the Way Around

As soon as we got all of our kiddos settled at their respective universities my husband Jimmy and I left our empty nest and hit the road!  We set our sights on circumnavigating the entire island of Ireland and what a fun time we had – an amazing adventure to celebrate our new phase of life.  From major highways to one land backroads, from sideways rain to the most beautiful sunset, I feel like we saw it all.  Pure Irish loveliness!  I’ve included some of favorite pictures although, I did not include any pub pictures but be assured we visited many a cozy, happy ones throughout the trip.  The Hairy Lemon in Dublin was very festive!

Falconery at Sheen Falls Lodge

Something very unexpected! Jimmy and I met up with a Master Falconer, someone that keeps and trains birds of prey. It was unexpectedly fascinating learning about the ancient work of falconery and the unique attributes of the birds. We got very friendly with a few. 

I loved visiting a working sheep farm and seeing a live demonstration of just how sheep dogs work.  They are amazing!  This hardworking girls’ name is Cricket.
